Here's a parent's eye review of
La Croix Valmer, France from jumblyMummy, May 2011
Holiday Type: Beach

Was La Croix Valmer good for the kids?:La Croix Valmer is a small town about a mile from the mediterranean coast not far from St. Tropez. The beach at La Crox Valmer is long, clean and ideal for children. There are lots of beautiful villages to be explored and great food to be tried. Within a half hour drive there are child-friendly campsites, boat trips, mini golf and water parks.
If you'd prefer there are marked nature walks through the national park at Gigaro where there are amazing views.

What was your accommodation at La Croix Valmer?Type: Villa
Name: Tropez Villa
How was the accommodation for the children?:Accommodation suitability for children rating: 2 stars
The villa owners can provide a travel cot and a high chair when needed but our daughter had outgrown these so we took our own booster seat and she slept in the twin room which has nice low beds but can get very gloomy as there is little direct light. The house only has hard floors and our toddler kept slipping over on them. Ouch. There are also two low steps out onto the veranda which caused problems. The most dangerous area was the steps down towards the pool (which has a pool alarm). We had to be on constant lookout at all times. The owners have a toddler so there are one or two toys to play with.
Did you eat out with your children in La Croix Valmer and how was it?Eating out for children rating: 5 stars
All of the local restaurants we tried welcomed our daughter and were able to provide a highchair (or let us use our own booster seat). Every restaurant we went to catered well for our toddler and they were happy to supply a spare plate so that she could join in with our own meals. We didn't see many restaurants that offered children's menus specifically but I think in the South of France they would rather the children shared the same food as you.
How were the things to do for the children at La Croix Valmer?Activities for children rating: 4 stars
The beach is the biggest pull for the children. It is long and clean and has clearly marked swimming areas. The sand is perfect for sandcastles and even in May, the water was warm enough for us all to swim in. At several points along the beach there are cafes, toilets and showers. There is also a communal family pool in the town centre.
Anything else parents should know about La Croix Valmer?
In La Croix Valmer itself there are no specific "children's activities" but it is a beautiful part of the world that I'm glad I've had the chance to share with my daughter.
